According to the Associated Press, he told Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett:
“It’s truly a nightmare I can’t wake up from. I’m haunted by the mistakes I made.”
Court documents filed before the sentencing revealed that Fleming had written multiple letters expressing deep regret over his involvement in the case.
“I made the biggest mistake of my life, and I am so deeply sorry for the hurt I have caused,” he wrote in one letter addressed to the judge.
Fleming also admitted he was motivated by money and poor judgment when helping Perry obtain ketamine.
