The filing claims that behind Netflix’s simple and entertaining interface existed an enormous hidden data-gathering operation quietly profiling millions of subscribers.
What has especially alarmed authorities is the allegation that children’s viewing habits were also extensively monitored.
The lawsuit accuses Netflix of collecting behavioral information from young users and families while simultaneously using “addictive” platform features — such as auto-play, endless recommendations, and algorithm-driven suggestions — to maximize screen time and user engagement.
