UN Health Agency Breaks Silence on Cruise Ship Virus Scare…

A growing sense of concern continues to surround the mysterious hantavirus outbreak linked to the expedition cruise ship MV Hondius, even as global health officials insist there is currently “no sign” that the situation is escalating into a wider international crisis.

Speaking during a press conference in Madrid, World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus attempted to reassure the public after the final group of passengers was evacuated from the disease-stricken vessel. However, he also warned that the situation remains unpredictable due to the virus’s unusually long incubation period.

“At the moment, there is no indication that this is the beginning of a larger outbreak,” Tedros explained. “But the situation could still change, and additional cases may emerge in the coming weeks.”
