Neighbors in the area described a terrifying and confusing moment when the crash occurred. Lisa Thomas, who lives next door, initially mistook the loud noise for something far less alarming.
“All of a sudden, I heard boom!” she recalled. “I thought it was the trash truck since it was garbage day. I even told my husband, ‘Gosh, we must have a lot in the trash can this week.’”
