According to People, the couple celebrated their marriage in the Bahamas over Memorial Day weekend after quietly making things official at a small gathering at Bettina’s twin sister’s West Palm Beach home on Thursday, May 21.
People reported that the couple chose a smaller Bahamas celebration partly to keep things private and intimate. A Palm Beach source told the outlet that the timing was chosen before events for the nation’s 250th anniversary became busier and before storm season complicated plans in South Florida and the Caribbean.

“July 4 belongs to America, and early fall is not a good time to plan a wedding in south [sic] Florida or on the islands due to questionable bad weather, so they decided to do it now in a place they both love,” the source told People.
The outlet also noted that the plan marked a break from Trump family wedding tradition, as Donald Jr. previously married Vanessa at Mar-a-Lago in November 2005, and his dad and Melania Trump held a reception at the same location as well. Donald Jr.’s siblings, Eric Trump and Tiffany Trump, followed suit.
