Tearful Courtroom Plea as Caleb Denies Killing His Wife
The 39-year-old appeared before the Miami County Municipal Court four days after authorities alleged he killed his 37-year-old wife inside their Ohio home.
Footage of the hearing obtained by the local outlet WLWT captured the moment Caleb’s attorney reiterated his not-guilty plea. Shortly afterward, the father of two spoke directly to the judge, holding back tears as he said, “I just want to take care of my daughters. I’m not a risk.”
Caleb is currently being held on a $2 million bond and is seeking to have that amount reduced as the case moves forward. During the hearing, the court formally read the charges against him. Outrage Erupts over Emotional Bond Request
Caleb’s emotional plea at his first court appearance did little to sway critics online. One commenter bristled at the mention of his children, writing, “Wants to take care of his daughters??? After shooting their mother while they were in the house??? How despicable.”
Another person exclaimed, “I can’t believe he had the audacity to bring his daughters up. He should’ve known the judge wasn’t going for none of that lol.” For some, the reaction was even more resolute, with one netizen insisting, “He should never be near his daughters again!!!”
