Latvia has been plunged into political turmoil after Prime Minister Evika Silina announced her resignation following a growing crisis linked to Ukrainian drones that accidentally entered Latvian territory while reportedly heading toward Russia.
The resignation comes after days of intense pressure on Silina’s fragile coalition government, which ultimately collapsed after one of its key political allies withdrew support in protest over her handling of the situation.
At the center of the controversy are several drones believed to have originated from Ukraine. According to Latvian and Ukrainian officials, the unmanned aircraft may have lost their navigation systems after being affected by electronic jamming, causing them to drift into Latvian airspace.
