According to a criminal complaint filed on Thursday, federal investigators laid out a series of alarming findings that led to Swain’s arrest. Among the most concerning pieces of evidence were photographs of his SUV parked at a Tidal Wave Auto Spa in Apex. Written across the driver’s side window was a chilling message: “HEADED TO WSH TO KILL THE PRES.” Investigators say the wording left little ambiguity regarding intent and prompted immediate concern.
