In addition to the primary statement, other phrases were written on the vehicle, including “TELL DONALD HE IS FIRED.” Authorities say the situation escalated rapidly from there, triggering an investigation involving federal agencies, including the United States Secret Service.
Political science professor Steven Greene of North Carolina State University commented on the seriousness of the incident, stating that such direct and public threats clearly cross a legal threshold. According to Greene, the explicit nature of the language made federal intervention not only justified but necessary to ensure public safety.
