UN Health Agency Breaks Silence on Cruise Ship Virus Scare…

So far, at least seven confirmed cases have been linked to the ship. Three passengers have died following the voyage, including an elderly Dutch man believed to have been the first infected individual onboard. He reportedly developed symptoms in April and died before medical teams were able to confirm the diagnosis.

His wife later left the vessel and travelled to South Africa, where she tragically died just days later in a Johannesburg clinic. A German woman also lost her life onboard earlier this month. Both women later tested positive for hantavirus.

Several additional passengers from multiple countries have also fallen ill. A French woman currently isolating in Paris is reportedly in deteriorating condition, while health officials race to trace more than 20 people who may have come into contact with her.
