In an earlier interview with CNBC in August, Trump was asked directly whether he planned to run yet again after his current term.
His answer was: “No, probably not, probably not. I’d like to…” before pivoting to his popularity: “I have the best poll numbers I’ve ever had.”
He then pointed to his policies as the reason, saying people “love the tariffs” and “love the trade deals,” adding that supporters like seeing foreign countries “not ripping us off” anymore.
According to Trump, both “friend and foe” had taken advantage of the US for years – and, in his words, “the friends were worse.”
That mix of denial, hesitation and self-praise has now been followed by new 2028-themed imagery and branding experiments on Truth Social, keeping attention firmly on what he might do next.
