That’s what happened to me the day my eight-year-old daughter, Emma, collapsed at school. I wasn’t just kept out of her hospital room. I was pushed out of my own role as her mother by the people who were supposed to have my back – my own family.
This is the story of how I found out what happened behind those doors, how my sister signed off on treatment without me, and how I took my position as Emma’s mother back – legally, emotionally, and practically.
