The tanker seizure was not an isolated event.

With Maduro now reportedly in US custody and strikes rumored in Caracas—including near military installations—the pressure campaign has entered uncharted territory.
Russia, long one of Venezuela’s key allies, appears to see the tanker seizure as a direct challenge to its geopolitical reach.
