5. Scale small fish in a pinch
If you’re cleaning small fish and don’t have a dedicated scaler, the toothed notch can serve as a backup.
How to use it:
– Hold the fish firmly by the tail.
– Run the toothed edge along the skin in short, firm strokes against the direction of the scales.
It’s not as fast as a proper fish scaler, but it works when you’re camping, travelling, or just improvising with what you already have.
