According to him, the logic is simple: wire is harder and slower to remove. Even with cutters, it forces you to stand still by your car for longer than you normally would.

In his video, he explained that this extra time and distraction could theoretically be used by someone waiting nearby for an opportunity to approach you when your guard is down and your hands are busy with the door handle instead of your surroundings.
