How to remove water rings from wood with a hairdryer
Here’s the exact step-by-step process my sister taught me:
- Prepare the area
Gently wipe the surface with a soft, dry cloth to remove any dust or crumbs. You want the wood clean so nothing gets baked into the finish. - Grab a hairdryer
Any regular hairdryer will do. Plug it in and set it to a medium heat setting – you don’t need maximum power. - Apply heat to the ring
Hold the hairdryer about 2 inches (5 cm) away from the water ring.
Move it slowly back and forth over the mark, keeping it in constant motion so the heat doesn’t concentrate in one spot. - Watch the ring fade
Within a couple of minutes, you’ll start to see the cloudy mark lighten… then disappear. Keep going until the ring is completely gone. - Let it cool, then polish
Once the mark is gone, let the wood cool down. Then finish by applying a bit of wood polish or furniture oil to restore shine and add a bit of protection.Continue reading on the next page 👇
