Where to find the secret door-release button
On many ovens, the release mechanism lives right where nobody bothers to look: at the top corners of the door, near the hinges.
Depending on the model, it can be:
– A small metal tab you flip up or down
– A sliding latch on each hinge
– A button you press or pull
The purpose is always the same – it locks or unlocks the hinge so the entire door can be lifted off the oven body when needed, then snapped back into place afterward.
Manufacturers don’t exactly advertise this, so lots of people own an oven for years without ever realizing the door is designed to come off this easily.
