Reason why one AirPod always dies faster than the other

The most common culprit: your charging case

One of the biggest reasons for uneven battery life is surprisingly basic: one AirPod isn’t actually charging properly in the case.

As YouTube channel “Apple Explained” points out, when you drop your AirPods into the case, it’s possible that one of them doesn’t make full contact with the charging pins inside.

What happens then? Instead of charging to 100%, that AirPod sits there slowly draining, so when you take them out again, one starts the day with less power than the other – and dies first every time.

The annoying part is that it can look totally normal from the outside. The case closes, the light flashes, everything seems fine… but that tiny metal contact isn’t fully touching the AirPod stem.
