Trump has said the payments would go to people on “low, moderate and middle incomes”, but he hasn’t provided exact brackets or detailed criteria.
That’s led others to step in and try to reverse-engineer what the rules would look like if this ever becomes real policy.

One Social Security commentator and disability YouTuber, known online as “Blind to Billionaire”, has suggested that the income threshold would most likely mirror other federal payment programs.
In his view, the key question would be brutally simple:
“Is your income below $75,000 a year as an individual – yes or no?”
If yes, he argues, you’d “most likely” be in line for the payment, with a married couple limit around $150,000 – similar to past stimulus-style programs.
