The situation has become increasingly dangerous in recent days. According to US Central Command (Centcom), American naval forces were allegedly targeted by Iranian missiles, drones, and armed speedboats near the Strait of Hormuz in what US officials described as an “unprovoked attack” on three American warships.
Iran, however, tells a completely different story.
Iranian military officials accused the United States of attacking Iranian oil vessels and carrying out airstrikes near coastal areas close to the Gulf. Authorities in Iran’s Hormozgan province reported that at least one cargo ship caught fire during the confrontation, leaving multiple sailors injured and several others missing at sea.
