Another strong contender for the topic of the announcement is Trump’s proposed new policy around investment accounts for children, dubbed “Trump Accounts.”
Here’s what’s been floated so far:
- A massive $6.25 billion donation from the Dells, the tech-billionaire family behind Dell.
- Each eligible child would receive a $250 investment account to start with.
- Eligibility may depend on living in certain ZIP codes.
- Parents, guardians and employers would be allowed to contribute up to specific limits.
- Money in the account would grow tax-free.
On paper, it’s a big, headline-friendly initiative with a clear political upside — which makes it a very plausible subject for a made-for-TV presidential announcement.
