The man glanced at the trailer, then at Gideon.
It wasn’t an easy answer. Gideon was old, and the longer they remained at the site, the more unpredictable the situation could become. The owner was still outside arguing with officers, people had gathered near the entrance, and everyone knew that a frightened elephant could become dangerous in seconds.
But Evelyn refused to let urgency become another form of force.
Gideon turned away from the trailer.
For a moment, she thought he was leaving completely.
