A Race Against Time
Tasha turned and sprinted as fast as her legs could carry her. The corner store was three blocks away. She pushed herself harder, praying she could make it in time. As she reached the store, her breath came in sharp gasps. Mr. Coleman, the store owner, didn’t hesitate. He knew something was wrong. Without a word, he followed her back toward the alley, where the man still lay, barely conscious.
