Bob never imagined that a quick trip outside for firewood on a snowy New Year’s Eve would turn into a fight for his life. When he slipped on the icy steps of his northern Michigan farmhouse and broke his neck, he was stranded in the freezing cold with no way to move and no one nearby to hear him.
