Critics are calling Donald Trump’s phone venture, Trump Mobile, a “scam” as fresh reporting and social media claims suggest the company is selling older refurbished devices at premium prices while the long-promised gold T1 smartphone remains unavailable.
The mobile brand was announced earlier this year through the Trump family business ecosystem, with the Trump Organization now overseen by Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump. The launch generated immediate buzz thanks to promises of a patriotic, gold-colored phone marketed as being built for “real Americans,” paired with a branded plan.
The biggest issue, however, appears to be a growing gap between the hype and what customers can actually buy today.
